10.Do You Agree Or Disagree With The Following Statement? Watching Tv Is Bad For Children. Use Examples And Details To Support Your Answer.
I agree with the statement that "Watching TV is bad for children". I have got several reasons to support my point of view.
First, watch TV can cause problems of eyesight. Many children in HK have bad eyesights due to the indulgence of long hour TV watching. If children expose to TV too long, their eyes will hurt. Since most children have a bad management of time, and they are too young to know how to take care of their eyes, once they have seen their loved programs, they will stay in front of TV set until the end of it. Thus their eyes hurt gradually. That's why we can see many children wearing eye-glasses in their early ages. In fact it is unhealthy for the development of their health and their study.
Second, children are probably to learn badly things from TV programs. Many TV program are not targeted at the children. They just simply reflect the good and bad of our society. Sex and Violence episodes are often seen. TV program passes on to children the corrupting values of a corrupt society. Besides many TV program are of low quality with too much slang and undesirable behavior. If children are exposed too early and too much of these kinds of TV program, their minds will be corrupted. This will have a bad influence on children's physiological and psychological development. If children get addicted to this kind of TV program, things will get worse. It will affect our society too. That's why many advocates insist that a lot of juvenile delinquency is due to the large exposure of TV programs. TV is to blame for the fact of our rising crime rate.
Third, the very danger of watching TV lies in the fact that the children take no initiative in learning. TV watching makes children very passive. They just sit for hour after hour getting very receptive and unquestioning. TV program would not allow a minute to think and to question. TV makes the children completely passive because everything is presented to him without any...
