9-11 Tribute

One fine day, on September eleventh, two thousand one, the world started in its usual way of things with no clue what was ahead on that morning. Suddenly, "two birds of steel" (as a post facto Nostradamus said) made us reel in shock, fear, and eventually anger as we got up from our beds. All eyes turned to Bush as he spoke that night, pledging to find those responsible for the attack and promising no mercy to those who harbored the terrorists. Then we looked for the man, Osama Bin Laden (the leader of the terrorists responsible for the attack), in Afghanistan, but the coward had already fled into hiding. Even now, more than a year after the attacks, we haven't found him yet. Osama's runnin' fast, it seems because we can't find him; and our troops are gunnin' for him, authorized to use deadly force if necessary. It's been more than year and our nation's still picking up the pieces. We all have cried for those who died, all the moms and dads and nephews and nieces and brothers and sisters and everyone else who was lost in the tragedy. However, as our nation was tested in such an extraordinary way, we're responding very well. The most amazing thing I've noticed in the past year is our resolve to stay together. We're standing strong and marching on without hesitation. Our courage never ceases. Our nation stands as we join hands against the curse of fear. The dead are lain in their graves, and mourned. We fight through our pain and sadness as we wipe away our tears. Together, as one nation, we are standing strong. It seems like everyone knows that together as a whole we can go on. In all of this, I know that we will not fall apart.
