Adoption and Abortion: An Essay on Ethics
In this day and age, being a young adult or simply a teenager presents its own face of adversity. Choosing a partner to have children with isn't always an easy choice; sometimes accidents may happen, and you may find yourself between a rock and a hard place. Nowadays Abortion is practiced regularly throughout the United States and all over the world. Although it's a stable, safe practice if done early with the pregnancy, some people consider it murder and deem it ethically wrong. An alternative which has been around for quite some time is Adoption. Depending on the situation you are in, one solution might be a better choice for you.
People argue about whether or not abortion is right or wrong; in some cases it may be necessary for a female to go about doing so. People who are for abortion are called "Pro-Choice". A mother who is Pro-Choice might say, "The fetus is not a human, just a mass of tissue "or "A woman should be able to control her own body." Rapes are common in these times and it is not unheard of for the female to have what is called the "Morning-After Pill" (which kills the zygote before it reaches the stages of becoming the fetus) or they go to their local abortion clinic. Abortion nowadays has become relatively safe if sought after early in the pregnancy. The earlier you get to a clinic, the cheaper and least jeopardizing it becomes. There is a technique which was used in the late 70's and early 80's called saline amniocentesis, or salt poisoning abortions. The procedure starts when the surgeon inserts a large needle through the abdominal wall of the mother and into the baby's amniotic sac. A concentrated salt solution is injected into the amniotic fluid. The baby breathes and swallows it, is poisoned, struggles, and sometimes convulses. It takes over an hour to kill the baby. When successful, the mother goes into labor about one day later and delivers a dead baby. This is not the only way...
