Dear Sirs
Although the UK remains outside the Euro Zone, we are concerned that many of our suppliers will be among the 11 EU counties using the single European currency from 1 January 1999.
Our main concern centres round out IT system, bearing in mind that we are trying to deal with the challenge of the Millennium Bug. While we are aware that there will be no single solution to setting up our IT system to handle the Euro, we would appreciate it if you would answer the following questions.
1 Our current IT system generates reports to customs & Excise and Inland Revenue. What amendments will be necessary to avoid confusion?
2 Is it true that dual currency accounts will be required from 1999?
3 Will there be software packages available to deal with the conversion rules?
We look forward to hearing from you.
Yours
Rebecca Winters
IT Manager
