Grand Alliance: The alliance between the superpowers of the US, Britain, and the Soviet Union to fight the Axis powers.

Tolstoy Agreement of 1944: the agreement assigned to Russia 75/25 or 80/20 preponderance in Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary. In Yugoslavia, Russia was to share influence with Britain, while in Greece, the agreement assigned to the UK 90/10 preponderance

The Nazi-Soviet Pact: Molotov carved out this pact with the German foreign minister, by which Russia and Germany agreed not to attack one another. This is because Stalin and Hitler had Greed in common and Stalin wanted to regain lost territory from the Versailles treaty, namely Poland.

Lend Lease: FDR invented the lend lease plan to circumvent the Neutrality Acts when he received a letter from Churchill desperately pleading for more arms. Roosevelt decided that rather than selling munitions to Britain, Americans could lend or lease resources as necessary. This plan allowed Britain to continue fighting the war. In return Britain signed over harbours under the British Empire to the US, which were important strategic locations to the US such as Canadian harbours and Australian Harbours. Atlantic Charter: This Charter in 1941 allowed free trade between the US and Britain. The reason for this charter is because the US did not want another stock market crash like in 1929 because the crash made tariffs high in other countries and made it difficult for the US to trade with anyone. Churchill signed this charter and eventually many other countries signed on to this agreement.

Operation Barbarossa: In 1942 Hitler ordered the attack on Russia. This is because Hitler believed that the German people needed more living space in the east. And because the Soviet Union was that it was a communist nation and because the Soviet Union contained vast resources the...
