inexhaustible, safe, freely available, and ready to be put to use in today's world. "Solar energy is a safe, reliable power source that you can use today" (Sklar 6). It is a remarkable energy source that can be used in many places. Solar energy is very practical for the home.
Solar energy is useful and economical. It is very efficient for anyone. No matter young or old, rich or poor, the sun can be practical. "Every American can make a modest investment in solar energy for water heating, building heating, lighting, and ventilation and actually realize economic gain and improved home comfort, without changing his or her lifestyle" (Sklar xiii). Whether powering single homes or large apartment or office buildings, the sun gives sufficient energy to take enough power for everything. "Today it is a serious, useful product that can meet many consumer needs" (Sklar 4). Whether it is being used just for small appliances or to heat and cool a whole building, solar energy can be beneficial. Anyone can reap the benefits of astral power.
Solar power is a cost effective source of energy. The energy consumers take from the power company is everything but free, while the energy consumers could be taking from the sun is free. So why not take advantage of something at no cost? "There are various present day, cost-effective uses for solar electricity" (Kaufman 4). It can be used to power heating and cooling systems, as well as appliances in homes and fax machines, computers, and copiers in businesses bringing the monthly cost down tremendously. The dimension or sort of building is not a factor in the opportunity of using solar energy. "Solar energy is free for everyone" (Cassiday 6); no matter what, where, or when it is needed. There is no fee to power things using the sun. In today's fast paced lifestyle, the bills and costs of living are rapidly rising with a not so escalating paycheck.
