A Letter To Solzenitsyn For The Book One Day In The Life Of Ivan Denisovich. Good For Isp
Dear Solzhenitsyn,
My name is Shukhov. I have been a prisoner at Ust-Izhma in the Soviet work camps of Siberia. I have served my time as a prisoner. Now as my life goes on I have achieved many goals. Firstly before I go on, I would like to thank my boss at the prison camp for complimenting me on my work and leadership skills. He has inspired me to become a successful architect, building and designing many of the buildings surrounding Siberia.
As a great author of a story of one of my fellow prison mates, I would like to thank you for including my two cents in the book. People from all over come up to me and ask me questions about my time spent in Ust-Izhma. I always find the time to tell them.
Now I would like to tell you about some of the decisions I have made over the past few years. After being in a prison and experiencing what it is like to work when you're at the verge of death, I have realized that there is a lot more to life than being bossed around by military personnel. As a boss for a successful contracting company, and to know what it is like to be treated so harshly, I do not want my employees to feel my pain and suffering. They are all treated well and with the proper respect. My success has brought me a loving family, two daughters and 5 sons, and my wife. They inspire me throughout my days and help me through hard times. My entire family knows I was in prison, but my wife still married me, and my kids think no less of me.
This one is sort of funny. Since I was feed gruel for 20 years in prison, I have hired a personal chef just for me and my family. The food is wonderful, but then again anything is better than gruel. I have also taken the time to try to cook myself. I can make mostly appetizers because the big meals take too much time.
I have about four degrees in math and construction. Hence the fact that I am a professional contractor. I love my job very much, I work with fine people they...
