I Need An Essay

I need an essay for my essay. I would like to have the essay that your essay place has. It does not say how long an essay needs to be to get an essay, so this will be the end of my essay. Thank you.The war began in 1899 between the British and the Boers (Dutch settlers) in South Africa over
the gold and diamonds that had been recently found in the Boer Republic. The Boers were
rebellious towards their British rulers and resented the intrusion of British fortune hunters. Since
at this time, Britain was still in control of Canada's external affairs, Canada was called to
participate in the war. Canadians were split between the English who wanted to fight, and the
French who were against Canadians fighting in the war. Laurier compromised and gave
Canadians the choice to fight or to stay behind.

ENGLISH OPINION

Anglo-Canadians felt it was our duty as part of the British Empire to fight, and thought that the
French-Canadian's refusal to help was rude, disrespectful and unpatriotic.

AN ENGLISH VIEW

Dear Mr. Prime Minister:

I am writing to you as loyal English-Canadian citizen. Great Britain is at war and desperately
needs our help in her hour of need. You are once again giving into French Canada and its
demands by ignoring Canada's responsibility to the British Empire.
I urge you to immediately offer military assistance to Great Britain.

FRENCH OPINION

The French believed that we would receive little to no benefit from taking part in a war that
threatened neither Canada nor the French Empire. They figured that fight in the war would only
succeed in making the British Empire richer than they already were.
