A Paragon Of Gender In Society
Gender discrimination exists. According to the structural-functional paradigm, the society should create a complex system whose parts work together to promote solidarity and stability. Date back the earlier times when gender roles exist and is emphasized in society. Men work to provide for the family while women stay home to take care of the children. However, an example of a modern day gender inequality is the sports of today. According to Phil Witte, men's and women's sports differ greatly in accordance to the common notion that men are the only physically fit in succeeding at any sport, therefore having the privilege of being featured at any given event. Feminism is one crucial advocacy that should never vanish in society.
Prejudice runs much deeper. When men and women were assigned gender roles, women are deprived of many privileges. Women lacked the range of endowments which men tend to enjoy. The structural-functional paradigm clearly proves this point. A goal that should be established is to help men and women function freely and fairly in the world.

Men's sports are appreciated and supported more among the majority of the society. Female athletes strive as hard and sweat as much as their male counterparts. Society and media attempt to create an illusion that women have every right that men enjoy.
