The situation stated by author is the fact happened around us, but sometimes fact is not equal to best. I believe we can learn much more form people whose views contradict our own.

Firstly, those people whose views we share probably have the similar knowledge and information of the discussed topic, which indicates you can¡¯t learn much new information from them. One philosopher said, people use one thought to communicate with another thought, then he can own two thoughts. Members in one side often can¡¯t find your mistake, because they use the same method as you to considerate the problem and easily to obtain the similar answer. However, people in the other side whose opinion are totally different with yours would be very convenient to touch your weakness of view, since they totally observe the problem from another angle. Sometimes, right and wrong have no clear boundary and it is hard to say one point is totally wrong or another view is right in any cases. In our world, right and wrong is not enough to measure or judge most things without background or special conditions. So don¡¯t negate opposite opinions curtly, give a chance to yourself as well as other views and you must own more than expected.

Secondly, does disagreement cause stress and inhibit leaning? The answer is definitely not. The main obstacle is the attitude to disagreement. Almost everyone like praise much more than criticism, although some praise is from flatter and some criticism is from bottom of heart. Why we can¡¯t hear some criticism? Because of self-complacence, which is enemy of success and limits our steps to goal. If people can reduce self-complacence to minimal and try to receive other¡¯s point, they will discover a lot of new experience or blaze more creative thoughts.
