Women's Rights
What is important for a woman, family or future?
In history, most women spent all their time on the household. They always stayed in the kitchen. Maybe this has always been the public opinion about women. For example; in Ancient China, women were subordinate to men. Wives could not say "no" to their husbands. men could have more than one wife, but the women only could stay home and do housework. It seems the kitchen is the only place women can stay.
" Can women run businesses and have a big influence on society?" I think the answer must be "YES". A woman still can do business and have a big influence on society.
Here are two examples of famous women who were scientists who had a big influence on society.
Gerty Radnitz Cori ( Biochemistry,1947 ) ---- Gerty Cori was the first American woman to win a Nobel Prize in science. She studied enzymes and hormones, and her work brought researchers closer to understanding diabetes. She won the Nobel Prize for discovering the enzymes that convert glycogen into sugar and back again to glycogen ( http://www.factmonster.com ).
Marie Curie ( Physics,1903 & Chemistry,1911) ----She was the only person ever to win two Nobel Prizes. By the time she was 16, Marie had already won a gold medal upon the completion of her secondary education. In 1891, almost penniless, she began her education at the Sorbonne in Paris. In 1903 her discovery of radioactivity earned her the Nobel Prize in physics. In 1911 she won it for chemistry ( http://www.factmonster.com ).
I think a woman still can have a big influence on society just like a man. However, women and men are equal in the world.
"Can a woman forget their family, and only think about having a big influence on society?" Definitely not! For example: Marie Curie's daughter, Irene Curie ( Chemistry, 1935) , followed in her mother's steps. She also won the Nobel Prize for discovering that radioactivity could be artificially produced.
