The writer is trying to show the reader/listener that he is imagining holding this girl in his arms. Theme "Simple Plans, I'd do anything" is a love story all in itself in some ways, but it is also a depressing song. I think the there is two themes to this song. One being lonliness and the other being love. I think lonliness is a theme because he describes in many cases that he would do anything to hold her in his arms, signaling he wants her back and is getting lonely without her.
