9-11 and the effects it had on civil liberties
Both civil liberties and security are very important and I’m very split on this debate. On one hand, you always want your respective country/people to be protected in every way possible. But where do you stop? Tighter airport security? Stricter visa control? Infringing on citizens privacy and changing the ideals that the country was founded on? There is a thin line between higher security and taking away rights bestowed to the people by the Constitution itself. Which category do these new policies fit into? Well that all depends on your viewpoint. After the incident on September 11th there was a public outcry for higher airport security , and rightfully so.
